Hourly shifts are Croydon London Bus Simulator's community coordination system — one route selected for group driving with automatic timetable spacing and bonus point rewards. Joining shifts correctly maximizes your hourly income and connects you with the active driver community. This guide explains the join process and bonus optimization.
Reading Shift Announcements
When the hour changes, the server announces the new shift route on the main menu. Note the route number and operator. Prepare a compatible bus from that operator before spawning — consult our main routes list if unfamiliar with the service.
Joining the Queue
Spawn at the shift route's starting stand early. The system assigns departure slots automatically, spacing buses like real TfL headways. Do not rush ahead of the queue — Simulation Server etiquette applies on Pro sim worlds. Indicator discipline matters on crowded stands.
Maximizing Shift Bonuses
Shift bonuses stack with normal passenger income and on-time bonuses. Drive during rush hour when the shift route passes dense areas for maximum total yield. Use QuickBoard to maintain timetable position on high-passenger shift routes.
Pro Private Server Shifts
Croydon Pro private server owners manually select shift routes via the Pro perk menu. Host company events on custom shift routes, or grind specific replacement routes with friends for controlled bonus farming.
Shift Route Preparation
Learn multiple operators' routes so you are never unable to join a shift. Keep buses from at least two free operators in your fleet. Monitor the rush hour timer to align shift participation with peak passenger windows for optimal results.
