Points — often called credits in community discussions — are the backbone of progression in Croydon London Bus Simulator. Without them you cannot expand your fleet, unlock operator variants, or compete on weekly company leaderboards. Every gameplay loop ultimately feeds the point economy: boarding passengers, running punctual services, and choosing high-yield routes during peak periods.
Passenger Boarding Income
Passengers are NPCs who spawn at bus stops when you begin a route or after serving a stop. Each requests a ticket type visible in a speech bubble. Issue the correct fare via the dashboard or interactive ticket machine, close doors, and depart to receive 3-6 points per boarding passenger. The exact amount scales with XP upgrades on the operator you are driving for — grinding one company like Croycoach or Arriva raises your per-passenger rate over time.
Alighting passengers ring the bell onboard. Stop safely, open doors, and collect 3 points per exiting passenger. Master ticket handling in our dashboard and tickets guide before chasing high-traffic routes.
On-Time Departure Bonuses
Watch the departure countdown on your dashboard. When it displays Due, pull away promptly. Each on-time stop earns 5 bonus points, tallied at route end. A perfect 20-stop run adds 100 points beyond passenger income — enough to accelerate purchases from our bus tier list recommendations.
Doug Wheelchair Bonus
Doug spawns occasionally as a wheelchair passenger. Deploy the ramp on a low-floor bus, board him, and earn 10 points when he alights (blue bell icon). High-floor buses cannot serve Doug. See cameras and doors for ramp operation details.
Tram Earnings
Trams pay 15 points per stop departed, rising to 20 when on time. Tram routes require Croydon Pro for TR1-TR3 access. Compare bus versus tram efficiency in our bus vs tram video guide and use the points calculator to model your sessions.
Shifts, Rush Hour, and Events
Hourly server shifts add participation bonuses on a randomly selected route. Rush hour (07:00-10:00 and 16:00-19:00 GMT) spawns more passengers per stop. Seasonal events like the Christmas Event award daily challenge points — check our codes and rewards page for current event information since Croydon does not use traditional promo codes.
Robux Point Purchases
The Shop sells direct point bundles if you prefer skipping grind time. Larger bundles offer better Robux-to-point ratios (up to roughly 6.67 points per Robux at the 7,500 tier). Most dedicated players earn faster through Pro replacement routes on our subscription routes page combined with shift participation.
